Bootheel Baby Connect

On this site you will find information related to parents of new babies.  The main purpose of the Bootheel Baby Connect program is to reduce stress of parents with new babies, to help them have realistic expectations, and to help reduce isolation to prevent child abuse and neglect.  Through this website, the baby Bootheel Connect Facebook group, and the ParentLink Warmline, ParentLink is creating an innovative style that will help parents overcome the many obstacles that surface during baby’s first year.  Click here for our Bootheel Baby Connect brochure.
The target audience for Bootheel Baby Connect is parents of new babies from the counties of Dunklin, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Butler, Mississippi, Scott, and Stoddard.  Bootheel Baby Connect targets the Bootheel area as it is known for high poverty and high teen birth rates.  For instance, did you know teen parents made up nearly a quarter of the Bootheel-county births last year?  (PubRecords, 2012).

What parents will find on the Baby Connect Facebook website:

ParentLink staff will post (and encourage parents of new babies to post) questions, concerns, worries, fears and the daily milestones that come along with parenting.  There will be opportunities to ask questions, take polls, post informational videos, organize and advertise local events and provide links for parents to search for more information.
